Stabbing in Park Hills

PARK HILLS — A Park Hills man is behind bars after witnesses told police he stabbed a man in the back.

On Wednesday, Randal Lagemann, 30, was charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. Associate Circuit Court Judge Wendy Wexler Horn set his bond at $150,000 cash-only.

According to police reports, Park Hills police officers were dispatched to a stabbing at an apartment complex on West Main Street Tuesday night. A 47-year-old Park Hills man was taken to a St. Louis area hospital “with the knife still protruding from his back.”

Two witnesses told police that Lagemann went downstairs to the victim’s apartment and tried to go inside. They said the victim refused to let him in. They began arguing and he forced his way in. The witnesses said Lagemann stabbed the man in the back.

The witnesses also said Lagemann had been threatening to stab the man for two days before the incident.

Lagemann was arrested. He refused to make a statement to police.

The victim is well-known to area police, is currently on probation and has a misdemeanor charge pending.
