Bonne Terre man dies in accident

One Bonne Terre man was killed and another was seriously injured Tuesday when their 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo overturned in St. Francois County. 

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Brian K. Motley, 37, was northbound on Route E at 3:30 a.m. when the vehicle traveled off the edge of the road. Motley overcorrected, causing the vehicle to travel off the left side of the roadway and overturn, .5 mile south of the Big River Bridge. 

Motley, who had been wearing a seat belt, was flown by air ambulance to Barnes Hospital. Passenger Nathan A. Patterson, 34, died at the scene. He had not been wearing a seat belt. 

Damage to the vehicle was listed as total.
