Rebels take sixth at Owensville Tourney

OWENSVILLE — The Central Rebels wrestling only took seven wrestlers to the Owensville Tournament on Saturday with some remarkable results. Central placed sixth out of the 11 teams with five of their seven wrestlers medalling by placing in the top four of their weight classes.

Richard House won first-place in 106 pound weight class, winning three of his matches by fall. House recorded a major decision to win the championship match.

Matt Streckfuss (182) and Justin McWilliams (220) both placed second in their respective weight classes, and both wrestlers pinned three of the opponents they faced.

Kyle Schwantner (145) won third place in the tournament, making two falls on the way. Garret Hagerty (152) also recorded two falls in placing fourth. Jordan Stirch (132) placed fifth, and Spencer Jones (160) came in sixth with both wrestlers winning one of their matches by a fall.

Central travels to Maplewood on Tuesday for a dual meet.
