Sikeston surges ahead in 2nd-quarter to down Knights

SIKESTON — For most all of the game the Farmington Knights held their own against the Sikeston Bulldogs in a Class 4 clash on Tuesday, that is except for the last few minutes of the second quarter. Leading by only a couple of baskets, the Bulldogs burst out to a 14 point lead before the break. The Knights matched the Bulldogs point-for-point in the second half before falling 67-54.

Doug Warren scored 22 points to lead the Knights in point production. Roper Garrett finished with 13, Monis Zereik scored seven and Alec Sebastian and Connor Davault each chipped in six points.

Farmington (8-7) will travel to Central on Friday for a key MAAA Conference match-up. Both teams are 2-0 in the conference.
