Lady Tigers stay in hunt with win over Valley

IRONTON — The Arcadia Valley Lady Tigers kept pace with West County by defeating the Valley Lady Warriors 48-43 on Thursday. The Lady Tigers remain one-game back of the Lady Bulldogs in sole possession of second-place.

After the two teams completed two quarters of play, the score stood still even with a tie of 27-27. Arcadia Valley broke away in the third quarter with a 10-2 home-court rally.

Peyton Mounce led the charge with 19 points and Anna Thomas and Sami Price scored 10 points each. Mounce also led the Lady Tigers in rebounds with seven, and Thomas led in steals with five.

Gretchen Koller scored 13 points for the Lady Warriors, and Natalie Grass was next with eight. Grass led all rebounders with 13 boards.

Arcadia Valley (8-8) will travel to Kingston on Monday, and Valle (3-11) will host Bismarck on Thursday.
