Warriors pull out win in fourth quarter over Cougars

STE. GENEVIEVE — The Valle Warriors took the lead with 45 seconds in the game and held on for a 46-42 win over the Kingston Cougars on Friday.

Valle suffered a 17-6 third quarter to the win-hungry Cougars, but reversed the tables with a 17-6 quarter of their own in the fourth.

Ryan Hermann led the Warriors attack with 14 points, followed by Trevor Klump with 11 and Lincoln Stoll with nine.

Matt McCoy led Kingston’s hopes with 20 points and nine rebounds, and Ross Politte was next with 10 points.

Kingston (3-9 and 0-6 MAAA) plays at Arcadia Valley tonight in a make-up game at 7 p.m. Valle (11-6 and 6-3 MAAA) hosts West County on Tuesday for second place in the Small-School Conference.
