Chili Supper benefits McDowell Scholarship Fund

A Chili Supper and Silent Auction will be held at Central High School in the Cellar to benefit the Zac McDowell Memorial Scholarship Fund on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 4-8 p.m. The dinner, which includes dessert, will be $5.

Zac McDowell was a fourth grade teacher, high school baseball coach, and middle school football coach in the Central School District before he died due to medical complication after surgery. The scholarship fund was set up in McDowell’s memory after his Feb. 26 death at the age of 26 years.

The $1000 scholarship is given to a Central graduate who is selected by a committee. The recipient is selected based on the student’s future plans, their personal relationship with God, grades and their financial need. The recipient can use the scholarship at a school of their choice.
