Blackcats hold their own against No. 1 seed

SIKESTON — The Fredericktown Blackcats came within four points of possibly knocking off the No. 1 seed Notre Dame Bulldogs, but the Bulldogs pulled away in the final minutes with made free throws to end Fredericktown’s season with a 70-60 loss.  

Notre Dame’s free throws made the difference as the two teams scoring was tied from the floor. The Bulldogs were 17-25 at the line to the Blackcats 7-9.

Brock Mills led the Blackcats charge with 18 points and 12 rebounds to go with three blocked shots on defense. Nick Oertel also scored 18 points, and Keith Jackson had 16 to go along with six assists. Tanner Ward pulled down eight rebounds, and 5’5” Justin Sawyer made five assists and also blocked two shots. 

Fredericktown finishes their season with a record of 17-10.
