Lady Cardinals bow to State Fair’s three-point display

SEDALIA  — The State Fair Lady Roadrunners made seven of eight shots from beyond the arc in the first half of their game with the Mineral Area College Lady Cardinals on Saturday to take a 17-point lead into the locker room, and the Lady Cardinals could not make up the difference in the second half as they lost the game 91-79 to the host team.

 What was going well in half one, fizzled in half two. The Lady Roadrunners went 0-8 from beyond the arc in the second half as Mineral Area began to patrol the perimeter more fully. State Fair had five players in double figures with Ryneka Church leading the pack with 20 points. State Fair received 50 points from the bench to MAC’s 10.

Taylor Ignoto led the Lady Cardinals with 24 points, and not far behind was Kate Alemann with 20 points. Alemann made seven rebounds, just one behind Nathalie Felipe who also scored 16 points. Point guard Hana Haden had a super night, making 12 assists.
