February 6, 2012, the Madison County Commission met with the following officers present: Presiding Commissioner Robert Mooney, First District Commissioner Dennis Bradford, and Second District Commissioner Larry Mungle. County Clerk Don Firebaugh was present to record the proceedings.
ROAD AND BRIDGE
Gregg Pruett, Road and Bridge Supervisor reported the Farmington Correctional Facility will train the employees on the new procedures required for handlers and employees that are involved with the work release program. Pruett said the parking lot across from the courthouse is now a public parking lot and will be asphalted later this spring.
All three Commissioners attended the County Commissioner’s Association Conference in Jefferson City last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Mooney, a board member of CCAM also attended the board meeting.
The Commissioners also visited Senator Crowell, Senator Engler and Representative Keeney while at the conference. They visited the State Tax Commission to inquire about and discuss the Assessor’s State Maintenance Plan.
Other seminars attended were “Broadband to Rural Missouri,” “Clean Water Act,” “How to Form a Sewer District,” “Disaster Planning and Recovery,” “Economic Development,” “E-911 in Missouri,” and the “Sunshine Law” by the Attorney General’s office. A briefing on the state budget was given by Senate Budget Chair Larry Schepper, Senator Kurt Schaefer and House Appropriations Staff.
