Jo Ann Owen

FARMINGTON — Jo Ann Owen, 80, passed away February 29, 2012, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis.  Jo Ann was born February 7, 1932, in Springfield, Missouri, and was the daughter of Leo Owen and Nannie Dorothy ‘Cadle’ Owen.

Jo Ann received a Bachelors degree from Missouri State University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia.  She started in 1967 as Physical Education Instructor at MAC, and taught until 1995. She continued coaching until 1998.  She coached Volleyball, men’s and women’s tennis at MAC for 30 years.   She was a longtime, faithful member of Memorial United Methodist Church.  She sang in the choir, led bible study classes and went on many mission trips.  She was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star Lodge of Republic, Missouri.

Survivors Include a Special Friend, Sarah I. Cassidy, of Farmington; numerous cousins and friends.
