Leola Ann Hixson
BELLEVIEW — Leola Ann Hixson of Belleview, Mo. passed away March 11, 2012 in Farmington, Mo., at the age of 102. She was born May 8, 1909 in Bruno, Mo., a daughter of the late Henry and Jane (Sitzes) White.
On October 15, 1932 she was united in marriage to Ronald Toy Hixson who preceded her in death on September 2, 1993. To this union two daughters were born; Jane and husband Jim Bolte of Belleview, Mo. and Marilyn Dickey and Paul Politte of Potosi, Mo. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Mary Hixson of Chesterfield, Mo., and Coalee Hixson of Frontnac, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Bruce and wife Ronda Sweeney, Jeff and wife Diane Sweeney, Tim Sweeney and Don Miller, Kurt and wife Patty Dickey, Kent and wife Kim Dickey, Jimmy and wife Jennifer Ragsdale, Kim and husband Paul Goins; 12 great grandchildren, Ron and wife Tammy Sweeney, Matt and wife Brittni Sweeney, Chris and wife Lindsey Sweeney, Tera Dickey, Amanda and husband Keith Kamper, Melissa and husband Josh Gaghen, Kyle Dickey and fiancé Tiffani Thurmond, Ryan Dickey, Kaitlynn Ragsdale, Jake Ragsdale and Brook Ashley Coins and eight great-great grandchildren, Josh Scoggins, Grant, Mattilyn, Ava, and Emma Sweeney, Audrey and Kaiden Kamper and Grace and Lily Gaghen, as well as other relatives and friends.
Leola was preceded in death by four brothers; Herbert, Edward, Lester, and Norman White, and two sisters, Stella White and Irene Shearrer.
Leola was a 1930 graduate of Patterson High School. She was a member of the Belleview First Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and also served as the church secretary. She also served as Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services were held March 14, 2012 from Belleview First Baptist Church with Don Akers officiating. Interment was in the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
