Potosi’s miscues give away game

SULLIVAN — The Potosi Trojans and the Sullivan Eagles managed only four hits each against their opposing pitcher, but Potosi’s defense missed the ball at the wrong time, creating a 13-2 win for the home-team Eagles.

Potosi had two outs in the bottom of the fourth when a pair of errors opened the floodgates, and Sullivan racked up nine runs n the inning before a third out could be made. The Eagles had already scored four runs in the second inning with each of those  run also being unearned.

Dakota Glore took the loss, and Colby Eckhoff had Potosi’s big hit with an RBI double. Lane Merseal, Jacob Reed and Devin Hammack had one single each, with Hammack driving in the second run.

Potosi will host Farmington this afternoon for their Conference opener.
