Wheeler, Barzowski each win twice at Festus meet

FESTUS — Carl Wheeler raced to victory in both the 110 and 300 hurdles, and also helped the Farmington boys 4×200 relay team place seventh overall at the Festus Tiger Town Relays on Tuesday.

The Knights placed among the top eight in five separate events, getting a fifth-place result from Monis Zereik in the 200 and a sixth-place run by Josh Thomas in the 300 hurdles.

The Farmington girls celebrated a win while eclipsing the 10-minute mark in the 4×800 relay. That quartet consists of Emily Harris, Shelby Hobbs, Jetaime Hovis and Alexis Kiefer.

Distance specialist Katherine Sitzes finished second in the 1600 and third in the 3200 representing the Knightettes.

Central struck victory in two field events. Maverick Scott won the boys high jump in addition to taking second in the triple, while Skylar Ragland and Georgia Richardson had a 1-2 finish in the girls pole vault.
