Raiders missed double-play yields four runs by Mules

POPLAR BLUFF — The North County Raiders had one get away on Thursday as the Poplar Bluff Mules scored five times in the sixth inning to defeat the Raiders by a score of 9-6. The Raiders just missed turning a double play to end the inning as the tying run scored, but two batters later a Mules double into the gap plated three runs for the final lead.

North County led the game all the way up to the Mules’ last rally with eight hits in the game. Eric Thompson  was 2-2 to drive in three runs, Levi Moss was 2-3, and Jon Stabenow was 1-3 with a double. Drew Rhodes Garrett Coffman, and Dyllon Parmley were all 1-3.

Rhodes took the loss, giving up eight runs on 10 hits, while striking out eight batters.

North County (3-3) will travel to St. Clair on Monday for their next game.
