French Heritage Seminar April 14

The seventh annual French Heritage Seminar has been set for April 14 at St. Michael’s House in Fertile.

A talk will be given by Kent Beaulne on the historic homes saved and reconstructed on the site, including the Duclos-Pashia home. Members of the Pashia family will also answer questions about what it was like living in a log cabin built in 1844.

Wes Mundy, whose family home the Mundy-Doyen home has been rebuilt on the site, will talk about the history of his family in Richwoods and beyond.

The Pilot Knob Mountain Boys will entertain before lunch, playing tunes popular during the Civil War era, and then from 1 to 3 p.m., there will be a tour of the village site.

Registration for the event begins at 8 a.m. and the welcome will begin at 8:50, followed by the speakers and tour. Lunch is at noon.

Cost per person is $35 at the door. Checks should be made payable to OMAHS. The price includes a continental breakfast, lunch, beverages and snacks. Checks may also be sent to Vicki Puronen, 148 Cascade Terrace Dr., Ballwin, MO 63021 or call 636-394-8543.
