Knights shut out Trojans on the courts
POTOSI — The Farmington Knights improved their dual meet record to 6-0 on Thursday with a 9-0 sweep of the Potosi Trojans.
Only Xavier Ball and Alex Tuck in No. 2 doubles were able to contest their Farmington opponents as they lost 8-4 to the combo of Veeshesh Patel and Cory Herzog.
Scoring 8-0 shut-out matches for the Knights were Ian Powers at No. 1 singles, Patel at No. 2, Alex Slinkard at No. 3, John Augustine at No. 6 and Slinkard and Augustine in No. 3 doubles.
Harlan Adams won the No. 5 singles match 8-1 over Ethan Zettler, and Powers and Adams won by the same score over Alec Roy and Austin Dicus in No. 1 doubles. Herzog defeated Tuck 8-2 in the No. 4 singles match.
The two teams will play again on Tuesday with Farmington being the host, but Potosi will first play host to St. Pius this afternoon.
