Raiders win 6-3 over Hornets

CRYSTAL CITY — The North County Raiders dominated the top portion of their line-up in taking a 6-3 win over the Crystal City Hornets on Thursday. North County all but the No. 5 and 6 singles and No. 3 doubles matches.

Connor McBride and Lucas Rodgers combined to win the No. 1 doubles match by a score of 8-4 over Jake Marlow and Derek Scott. Alex Lodholz and Paul Luebbers won the No. 2 doubles match 8-2 over Mike Pillyard and Adam Litzu.

Crystal City’s Jeff Littrell and Garrett Moreland won the No. 3 doubles with an 8-4 score over Josh Ruble and Trevor Trollinger.

In singles, McBride was an 8-2 winner over Marlow in No. 1 singles. Rodgers shut-out Pillyard 8-0 at No. 2, and Lodholz scored the same at No. 3 over Scott. Luebbers fought off a challenge by Litzu to win the No. 4 singles 8-4.

Moreland won the No. 5 singles for the Hornets with an 8-1 score over Ruble, and Jordan True won by the same score over Trollinger in the  No. 6 singles match.

North County (7-1) will host Arcadia Valley on Tuesday for their next meet.
