Tigers’ golfers rake in three more conference wins

STE. GENEVIEVE — The Arcadia Valley Tigers jumped their record to 7-0 in the MAAA Conference with a quad-meet win over the Ste. Genevieve Dragons, the Central Rebels and the Bismarck Indians on Thursday. The Tigers shot 170 as a team with the Dragons taking second at 176. Central was next at 229 and Bismarck shot a 269.

Kyle Sutton was the meet’s medalist, leading Arcadia Valley with a two-over 38. Eric Bennett was next at 41, Jimmy Stricklin shot a 45 and Garet Womble finished with a 46.

Ste. Genevieve added two more wins to their overall record, but having already defeated Central and Bismarck earlier, they did not add to their win total in the conference. The Dragons were led by Matt Turek with a 40. Kristen Meyer was next at 44, Kyle Roth and Clayton Gielow both shot 46 to round out the team score, and Brandon Mueller and Zach Dowdy shot 47 and 48 respectively.

Central recording two losses and one win overall, but only suffered one conference loss to Arcadia Valley while picking up a conference win over Bismarck.  Kye Jackson led the Rebels with a 46. Jon Comfort shot a 60, Caleb Gerrish a 61, and Brad King a 62.

Bismarck took three conference losses in the meet. Cody Schafluetzel led the Indians with a 54.  

Central and Ste. Genevieve will travel to the Jackson Invitational on Monday. Arcadia Valley will host West County and Farmington on Tuesday, and Bismarck will join Potosi at Terre Du Lac with North County hosting.
