Dixie Lynn Cox Coker

PLAINFIELD, INDIANA — Dixie Lynn Cox Coker, 60, Plainfield, Ind., passed away April 16, 2012, with her family by her side.  Born August 8, 1951, in Ironton, Missouri, she was the daughter of Rolla B. and Rebecca Pogue Cox.  

Dixie graduated from North County High School in 1969, Southeast Missouri State University in 1972 and received her master’s degree from Butler University in 1990. She married David L. Coker on April 14, 1973, in Bonne Terre, Mo. Dixie has worked as a disability claims examiner for the Social Security Administration since 1991.  She was a member of Plainfield Baptist Church.  

Survivors include her husband:  David, son:   Geoff (Julie) Coker, daughters:  Deanna (John) DeCoursey, Kimberly (Jeff) Hamilton, mother:  R. Pearl Cox, sister:  Debbie Cox, brothers:  Tom and Kevin Cox and 5 grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her father and sisters:  Donna Cox and Terry Cox Weible.  

Services will be at 11 on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Plainfield Baptist Church with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.bakerfuneralservice.com
