Madison County Frontier Girls participate in many activities
In the month of April the Madison County Frontier Girls have been very busy with different activities.
The month’s activities included stuffing eggs for the Optimist Club’s Egg Hunt, and badge work in knots, knife safety and hatchet and saw use.
April also marked the start of the Read A Thon fundraiser. The girls are reading and keeping track of their minutes during the month of April. They are getting sponsors who are pledging money for every minute of reading time. The money raised will be used locally for a family campout.
April 18, Frontier Girls read to seniors at senior housing. The books read were My Broken Shell, My Mother’s Garden, Light and Love, Choice, and The Rose. The seniors were very happy. The reading theme will continue May 2, when they will be reading at Tiny Tots Daycare. The big ending to our Read A Thon will be a book sale May 4 from 3-7 p.m. and from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on May 5 at the First Christian Church.
