The annual kid fishing derby put on by the Farmington Parks and Recreation department will happened May 12.
Wiggle and Giggle Kid Fishing Derby will start at 7:30 a.m. with registration on May 12. The whistle will blow to begin fishing at 8 a.m., with the final whistle sounding at 11 a.m. As in past years, the fishing derby will be held at Hager Lake in the west-side industrial park.
The competition consists of two age groups — Preschool to age 7, and ages 8 to 14. Prizes will be awarded in both divisions. Also, one girl and one boy will leave the derby with brand new bikes courtesy of Taylor Funeral Services.
Children participating in the fishing derby must be accompanied by an adult with a valid Missouri fishing license. All contestants must provide their own fishing equipment and bait.
