Three MAC players make all-region team

PARK HILLS — Three Mineral Area College baseball players were recently recognized with all-Region XVI honors after the team completed its season with a 29-24 record last season.

Potosi graduate and sophomore third baseman Tanner Glore posted a .425 batting average, and led the Cardinals in several offensive statistics. He will play Division I baseball next season at Western Illinois University.

Glore tallied eight home runs, 54 RBI, 68 hits and 53 runs scored. He also contributed 18 doubles and four triples.

Sophomore catcher Cody Garlington enjoyed a breakout spring at the plate, along with a substantial increase in playing time. The native of Greenbriar, Ark. batted .401 with two homers and 25 RBI.

The freshman ace of the MAC pitching staff also received all-region honors. Paris, Texas product Jeff King had a 10-3 record and 2.28 ERA entering the postseason while notching a team-high 70 strikeouts over 75 innings.
