Meadow Heights Church’s Arcadia Valley campus received extensive damage to its facility in Ironton due to an arson fire started after an early morning burglary on May 12. According to Ironton Police, the fire call came in at 3:58 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighers noticed extensive smoke coming from the office area at the front of the building.
After gaining entry to the church they were able to open the office doors where they found the fire. Though isolated in the office area, the fire generated enough heat to warp some of the metal roof trusses.
Once the fire was brought under control, a rear door to the building was found to have been jimmied and it was later confirmed that two items were missing from the office area. Security cameras over Arcadia Valley High School’s parking lot and in front of the school provided authorities with an image of a vehicle leaving the scene. Authorities are reviewing the footage in hopes of identifying the vehicle.
