Friday Club holds April meeting

The Friday Club GFWC of Missouri held their April 20, 2012 meeting at Vance Winery.

President Jean Roy opened the meeting with the pledges to the United States and Missouri flags.

Linda Hogan gave the devotional entitled “Climbing the Musical Scales.”

Members present were Mary Henson, Linda Hogan, Carolyn Kegley, Margaret Miller, Radha Rao, Jean Roy, Betty Schmale, Dorothy Sutton, Janet Ward, Shirley Gaines, Nenita Talaban, Freida Jones, and Tonya Robbins. Pat Mertens, District 9 President, was welcomed as a guest.

The March minutes were read  by Secretary Margaret Miller and were accepted as read.

Betty Schmale gave the treasurer’s report.

Final plans were discussed for the May 3rd Prince and Princess Pageant. Members were reminded to meet at 3:00 p.m. at the High School Gym to decorate for the pageant. It was announced that 50 contestants have entered the pageant. Information regarding the pageant will be mailed to each contestant.

Pat Mertens, District 9 President, installed the following officers for a two year  term: Mary Henson, President; Linda Hogan, Vice President; Margaret Miller, Recording Secretary; Radha Rao, Corresponding Secretary; and Betty Schmale, Treasurer.

The next meeting will be a carry in luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on May 18 at the Presbyterian Church.

The meeting was closed by reciting the club collect.
