Miller sworn in as new police officer

The Farmington Police Department has a new officer on the streets. Ryan J. Miller received the oath of office last week.

City Clerk Paula Cartee administered the oath to Miller.

The new officer was born and raised in Farmington, and graduated from Farmington High School in 2006. He went on to graduate from the Mineral Area College Law Enforcement Academy as Valedictorian of his class in May of 2011.

Since his graduation from training, Miller had been working as a jail deputy for the Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff’s Office.

He began work with the Farmington Police Department this week. He replaces Officer Ron Roper, who took a job in another city department.
