Fatal Accident on Mo.72 in Fredericktown

A Glenallen man was killed in a single vehicle accident 3:58 p.m. Friday, June 8 on Missouri Highway 72 in Fredericktown.

According to reports from the Fredericktown Police Department, a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Jesse W. James, 22, ran off the right side of the road, struck a culvert at the east most driveway at the intermediate school, slid across the driveway and overturned.

James was partially ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a safety device.  

Three other passengers in the Dodge suffered injuries in the accident. Apryl  D. Davis, 22, of Marble Hill sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Parkland Hospital in Farmington. According to the report, she was not wearing a safety device.

Carson Lesar, age three, of Marble Hill and one-year-old Oliver Lesar of Marble Hill both sustained injuries in the crash and were transported to Children’s Hospital in St. Louis. Both were seated in safety devices in the back seat of the pickup.

Vehicle damage was listed as total and it was towed from the scene by D and D Towing of Fredericktown.
