MABA — Red Sox hold on after Crushers threat

DESLOGE — The North County Red Sox and Potosi Crushers locked into a pitching duel for five innings, but both teams picked up their offensive efforts in their last at-bats to score three runs each with Red Sox pitcher Nathan Reynolds stranding the Crushers tying run at second as he posted his ninth strike-out to end the game.

Reynolds pitched the entire game for the win, giving up only seven hits to the Crushers, while holding a 5-1 edge going into the final inning.

Austin Harper was the only multi-hitter for the Red Sox with a pair of singles. Brett Hubbard hit a double, and Scott Miller, Dan Davis and Frank Hulsey had one single each for the home team.

Jonathon Thompson hit a double and a single for the Crushers and Jake Nicholson had two singles. Nick Juliette, Ethan Civey and Jordan Huerta hit one single each.

The Red Sox (1-3) will play again on Friday when they host the Farmington Hawks, and the Crushers will play at home tonight against the Farmington Falcons.
