MABA — Elks pull off upset, Falcons still undefeated

Elks 4, Redbirds 3
POTOSI — The Potosi Elks knocked off the previously unbeaten Park Hills Redbirds on Wednesday by a 4-3 score. The Redbirds stranded runners at first and second as the final out was recorded.
The Elks (6-3) scored three runs in the third to take a 3-2 lead, but a Redbirds third straight one-run inning in the fourth knotted the score until the bottom of the sixth.
Both teams had five hits in the game. Eric McCoy had the only extra-base hit with a double for the Pumas. Aaron Ross hit two singles, and Ross Politte and D.J. Eckhoff had one each.
The Redbirds five hits were all singles with Dante Castro claiming two, and Jon Stabenow, Klayton Loughary and Eric Thompson collecting one each.
Matt McCoy was the winning pitcher, striking out eight batters over six innings.
JUNIOR BABE RUTH
Falcons 10, Cubs 0
FARMINGTON — The Farmington Falcons won their seventh straight game without a loss with a 10-0 win over the Desloge Cubs on Thursday.
Gunner LaBrot picked up the win with a two-inning start with the rest of the six innings being split between three relievers. Coby Moon ended the game with a walk-off triple in the bottom of the sixth after hitting a single earlier in the game.
Logan Winder hit three singles and Garrett Thomure had a double and a single for the Falcons. Andres Castro and Brayden Krause hit two singles each, and Cole Sutton, Brennan White and Brandt Busenbark had one single each. Matt Eaton beat out a bunt single.
Dylan Kater hit two singles for the Cubs and Austin Tounsand and Tanner Aubuchon had one each.
