Zelma Turner

FARMINGTON – Mrs. Zelma Celeste ‘Conway’ Turner, 92, passed away July 4, 2012, at Brookside Manor.  Zelma was born on December 14, 1919, in Bunker, Missouri, to Dorothy (Heaton) and Link Conway.  Also preceding in death were: her husband, Willard R. Turner; sister, Maude Blake and son-in-law, Roger Becker.

Zelma was a member of the Little Vine United Baptist Church of Bunker.  She loved to garden; then can and freeze from that garden.  She made many quilts of which her family has many of.  When she was able, she loved to attend church.  We all have the comfort of knowing she is with her Savior in Heaven now.

Zelma lived her life in the Bunker community until her and Willard moved to Salem, Missouri, where they lived for a few years.  After Willard’s death she moved to Farmington to be near her daughter, Wanda Becker, who survives her.  Also surviving is her son, Ray Gene (Marlene) Turner, of Salem.  Six grandchildren, Garald Becker (Jan), of Fairborn, Ohio; Dennis Becker (Terrie), of Arnold, MO; Kelly Turner (Lori Ann) of Bunker; Kimberly Thompson (Phillip), of Salem; Katrina Howard, of O’Fallon, MO; Marcella Turner, of Salem.  Fourteen Great-Grandchildren; Ten Great, Great-Grandchildren.  Two sisters, Lucille Moses and Edith Woodson, both of St. Louis, MO.  Two sisters-in-law, Hazel Turner, of Bunker, and Sudie (Leroy) Williams, of Salem.

Visitation was held Thursday at Taylor Funeral and Cremation Service, Inc., Farmington.  Visitation resumed today, 6:30 a.m., and funeral 11:00 a.m., at Taylor Funeral Chapel, with Rev.
