Senior Citizens Appreciate Youth Volunteers

Youth volunteers at the Park Hills Senior Center enjoy a day at the Bonne Terre Fun Center recently as a gesture of appreciation from senior citizens. This is the sixth year of the program, which provides an opportunity to volunteer for youth who come to the senior center with parents/guardians or grandparents. The youth replace regular volunteers so those adults can take vacations.

This year, 39 youth participated, which is the largest group to date. The Fun Center sponsored the party, which included pizza and drinks. Each child received a gift of appreciation from the senior center. Now that school is open, the center needs a driver for a Park Hills Route on Thursdays and a Friday driver for Elvins.
