Central scores seven in third to beat Potosi

POTOSI — Junior Georgia Richardson collected four RBI on a pair of triples, and the Central softball team scored seven times during the third inning to defeat Potosi 13-1 in Wednesday’s season opener.

Ally Welch finished 2-for-2 including a key three-run triple, and freshman catcher Olivia Casey produced three RBI with a double and single.

Senior Ashley Hovis added two hits while Hanna Stam doubled and Madison Furry singled in the victory. Central (1-0) quickly surged in front with four runs in the opening frame.

Morgin Reece pitched the first three innings for the win, and Kyle House followed with three strikeouts while retiring six batters in relief.

Megan Vandergriff tallied an RBI single, and Justice Rodgers had the other Potosi hit.
