Fredericktown wins first home tennis match
FREDERICKTOWN — The No. 1 doubles team of Anna Kisner and Bryson Starkey dropped just one game in a dominant outing for the Fredericktown girls tennis team on Monday.
Courtney Holliday paired with Myranda Shafer, and Haley Holliday joined Mikaela Tremaine to complete a doubles sweep as the Lady Cats defeated Poplar Bluff 7-2 at home.
Kisner prevailed 8-6 and Courtney Holliday won 8-1 in singles action. Haley Holliday and Tremaine recorded 8-3 victories.
Shafer was edged in a tie-break and Starkey fell 8-5. Fredericktown (2-0) will open conference play today against Arcadia Valley.
