Potosi netters pick up first conference win

ARCADIA — The Potosi Lady Trojans defeated the Arcadia Valley Lady Tigers on Wednesday 8-1 in tennis for their first conference win of 2012.

Arcadia Valley’s only win came in No. 1 singles with Kennedy Hartwig defeating Alex Coleman 8-1.

In doubles, Coleman and Carly Nixon were 8-6 winners over Hartwig and Courtney Bates at No. 1, Alexis Knapp and Hannah Vinson won 8-5 over Breanna Hamilton and Kristen Tiefenauer at No. 2, and Carly Pashia and Lilly Stringer defeated Alexandria Crocker and Adriene Klempard 8-3 at No. 3.

In singles, Nixon shut out Bates 8-0, Knapp won 8-4 over Hamilton, and Vinson edged out Tiefenauer 8-6. Pashia won 8-5 over Crocker, and Stringer shut out Klempard 8-0.

Arcadia Valley will travel to North County this afternoon for their next conference meet, and Potosi will host the Lady Tigers on Tuesday.
