Hazel Run fire Friday afternoon

A fire on Friday afternoon was contained to two rooms of a house on Hazel Run in northeastern St. Francois County.

Firefighters were dispatched at about 4 p.m. to 4449 Hazel Run. Big River Fire Chief David Pratte said no one was injured.

The state fire marshal’s office was contacted to determine the cause of the fire. It appeared to have been from the water heater, Pratte said.
