Six-run inning propels Bulldogs over Bismarck
LEADWOOD — Clayton Brinkley blasted a grand slam to highlight a six-run sixth inning, and the West County baseball team rallied past Bismarck 10-5.
Brinkley added a double and single to finish 3-for-3 overall, and was the winning pitcher in relief after allowing two unearned runs over three innings. The sophomore right-hander tallied four strikeouts.
Bismarck scored four times in the fifth to grab a 5-4 lead, taking advantage of two errors during the inning.
Blake Barlow went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs scored for the Bulldogs.
Jonathan Hovick contributed a two-run triple to the victory, while Parker Forshee and Garison Masters had singles.
