Knightettes win see-saw battle over De Soto

DE SOTO — The Farmington Knightettes had their game in high gear to start their volleyball match against the De Soto Lady Dragons, but the Lady Dragons provided a speed bump that forced a well-fought, third game. Farmington prevailed 25-18, 14-25, 25-22.

“We didn’t receive serve very well,” explained Farmington Head Coach Jennifer Bowling, when asked about the extremes of the first two games., “and it got away from us.”

The Knightettes fixed things between games, and the third game became a back-and-forth tussle for the match. 

Setter Kourtney Knox, being supplied with an ample amount of good passes, was able to keep the Knightette hitters on target with 32 assists in the match. Rachel Williams made her presence known at De Soto’s net as she hammered 16 kills and also made five blocks in the match. Whitney Johnson made six kills as well as five blocks, and Madison Brown had five kills.

Brown led the Knightettes’ defensive efforts with 12 digs, Williams made 11 and Erica Williams had six. Tessa Anderson helped out at the net with four blocks.

Farmington (5-6) is off until Tuesday when they will host the Jackson Lady Indians.
