Fun-filled weekend in Leadwood

LEADWOOD — The sixth annual Leadwood Fall Festival will take place Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, offering a full weekend of musical performances, great food and special events at Leadwood City Park.

Friday there will be a chicken and dumpling dinner at 5 p.m. sponsored by the Leadwood Fire Department. Buddy D. and the Cruisers will take the stage from 6-10 p.m.

In addition to the music there will be crafts, games and lots of fun stuff for kids.

At 10 a.m. Saturday there will be a parade, starting on Main Street near the West County Middle School and traveling to Station Street. From Station Street the route will travel down East Street to Birch Street. It will end in the park.

At 1 p.m., Roy Whaley and Ambush will take the stage, followed by the crowning of the Fall Festival Prince and Princess at 3 p.m.

The Masonic Lodge will be providing BBQ throughout the day Saturday.

Music by the bands Broken and Route 67, with a special appearance by Norvill Dollar, will begin at 4 p.m.Saturday evening. Organizers encourage guests to bring their own lawn chairs.

At 10 a.m. Sunday, local churches will sponsor a church service under the big tent. Acts 520 Contemporary Christian kicks off the music at 1 p.m., followed by Missing Peace Worship Band at 3 p.m.

With hay rides, pony rides and “bouncy houses” for the kids the Leadwood Fall Festival promises a fun-filled weekend for everyone.
