Hunters squeeze by Saxony Lutheran with two-point wins
JACKSON — The Se. Genevieve Hunters won their Wednesday match over the Saxony Lutheran Lady Crusaders in two straight games, but not without fighting off a challenge by the home team. Both games were settled by two point margins in overtime, 27-25, 26-24.
Paige Schmelzle led the Hunters in kills with seven to go along with eight assists and five service points. Mallory Huck had five kills, and Katie Palmer connected for three more. Palmer also served seven points and made a stuff block. Layne Devine helped out at the net with two kills and three stuff blocks.
Ste. Genevieve is off until Monday when they take on Herculaneum at home.
