Knightettes advance to district final

JACKSON — The Farmington Knightettes will face Cape Central on Saturday for the Class 2, District 1 championship after they eliminated the Sikeston Lady Bulldogs on Thursday by a score of 10-3.

Kaila Nash pitched a three-hitter while striking out six batters for the complete game win. Scoring four runs in the second inning the Knightettes never trailed in the game, even though the Lady Bulldogs pulled close in the fifth with all of their three runs.

Rebecca Sutherland went 3-3, Hannah Hight was 2-3, Jordan Martin was 2-4, Brittany Link was 1-2 and Nash was 1-3 with all five players hitting one double in the game for Farmington. Colleen Boyer was 1-3, and Olivia Siebert and Randi Scruggs were both 1-4.

Cape Central upset the No. 1 seed Jackson in their semi-final game.
