Knights kicked by Mules in low-scoring game
POPLAR BLUFF — The Farmington Knights, fresh off a high scoring affair with Cape Central, found a different reception by the Poplar Bluff Mules defense. The Mules defensive backfield held the Knights at bay, intercepting three passes to put the Knights passing game in cold storage with only 38 yards on six completions.
Holding the Knights to one scoring drive, the Mules were only able to make two themselves, winning the game 14-6.
Farmington’s quarterback Justin Boehm rushed the ball 21 times for 102 yards including the Knights only touchdown, and Anthony Greco collected 117 more on 12 carries.
Zach Greif and Greco recovered one Mules fumble each, and Farmington lost one fumble for their fourth turnover of the game.
Farmington (2-5) will be at home on Friday to take on Vianney.
