Loretta M. Luna, 94, of St. Louis (formerly of Fredericktown), died Sunday, October 7, 2012, in the NHC Care Center in Desloge, Missouri. She was born on June 7, 1918 in St. Louis, the daughter of Anthony and Cora (Farley) Nies.
She married Joseph Luna Sr. December 29, 1945 in St. Louis.
Mrs. Luna is preceded in death by her parents; brother Clarence Nies; and sisters Catherine Corski, Barbara Clark and Gertrude Potts.
Survivors include her husband; sons Thomas Williams of Michigan and Joseph Luna Jr. of Desloge; daughters Nancy Cooke of St. Louis, Sharon Luna of St. Louis and Bea Davis of Marthasville, Missouri; 15 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Loretta was a homemaker, a girl scout leader and a Daughter of St. Michael. She enjoyed quilting and taking care of her family. She was of the Catholic Faith.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown with prayer service at 6:30 p.m. also at Wilson Funeral Home. A visitation will be from 9-10 a.m., Friday, October 12, 2012 at the St. Matthias Catholic Church in St. Louis. Mass of Resurrection will be at 10 a.m., Friday, October 12, 2012 also at the church with Father Dennis Port officiating. Burial will follow at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
