Last Monday
Well we won’t be calling or hoping for rain for a while. We’ve had quite a bit this week. I’m ready for some sunshine. I look for a wet fall and cold winter. We had two light frosts last week. The trees are aleady changing colors. Really it’s the leaves. The grass sure is growing fast.
I attended the Nazarene Church in Annapolis last Sunday. We had a good service. After the service we all gathered in fellowship hall to surprise Thelma Barnes. Sept. 27th was her 90th birthday. She was really surprised too. Bro. Howard almost had to pull her to get her to go back there. She knew there was food but no one had mentioned it to her and she hadn’t brought anything. They finally got her back there. We had a good time and plenty of food. We wish you lots more birthdays, Miss Thelma. May God bless you always.
My deepest sympathy goes out to Novella Buck and all other relations in the passing recently of her husband Jerry Buck. They lived at St. Joseph, MO but he was brought to Annapolis on Friday for burial. He has a brother, Steve, living in Piedmont, and a sister in Texas. He leaves his wife Novella, a son, Kevin, and daughter Melanie, two grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Alcorn. Jerry was a son-in-law of the late Elder Anzle and Sylvia Alcorn. May God bless and comfort you all.
Congratulations to grandparents Rusty and Bonnie Hamilton of Des Arc on the arrival September 17th I believe, of an eight pound one ounce baby boy. He has been named Silas James. His very proud parents are James and Chasidy. I’m not sure of last name. Someone told me Earhane–sorry if I’m wrong; forgive me. They live in Kentucky. Very proud great grandmas are Carol Hamilton and Katherine Propst. Congratulations to all. I know you great grandmas are anxious to spoil this baby. Oops–Rusty and Bonnie are the grandparents.
George and Dolores Wielms of Troy, MO came down Wednesday the 19th and spent the day with friends Charles and Karion Sutton. Dolores is the daughter of the late Leeman Riggs. Karion and Dolores were school chums.
Birthday wishes to: Glenn McElrath of Houston, MO October 4th; Louise Toppins of Vulcan October 5th; Lonnie Montgomery of Piedmont October 9th and Jean Gilliam where ever you live. I wish you all very happy birthdays.
Nadine Slusher was expected to come home from the nursing home Sunday the 7. Keep her in your prayers.
