Nearing time for return of Nutcracker

“The Nutcracker” will come to life on the stage of the Centene Center in Farmington Dec. 6-8.

This year marks the 20th production since 1981 of the holiday favorite by the Young People’s Performing Arts Theatre. More than 100 local dancers will grace the stage for this year’s performance. Four local young ladies are sharing the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

The Sugar Plum Fairies will be played by Hannah Carter, Callie McLaurin, Allie Black, and Lauren Braun. Gerald Haynes of Kentucky is the guest artist in the role of the Cavalier. Haynes has been a dancer for 20 years.

Ticket sales begin Oct. 29 at 8 a.m. at the Farmington Civic Center. Ticket prices are $10.50, and group tickets sales will be available for the Thursday night performance.
