Sheriff’s department buys rescue boat

Ste. Genevieve – The Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff’s Department has been able to purchase a 27-foot boat through a grant from Homeland Security.

It will be used for search and rescue missions and other emergencies on the Mississippi River. It can also be available for use in nearby counties that have emergency situations. The county also has a smaller boat.

It has towing equipment, radar and sonar, infrared detection, search lights, a gas generator and a fire pump.
