Mid-America gospel music convention expands to three nights

The Mid-American Gospel Music Association will be presenting its 13th annual gospel music convention on Nov. 1-3. The convention will be held at The Centene Center.

Alan Berry, of The Berry Brothers, says “this is to be the best year ever. We have added some new groups, including the well known Lesters from St. Louis. We will have three nights of great gospel music.” Berry added, ” this is the first year for the convention to be held on Thursday night, as well as on Friday and Saturday night. Tickets are still only $5 and the convention has been a sell out the last couple of years.”

Thursday night features groups such as The Lesters from St. Louis, The Berry Brothers, Marilyn Berry, Final Authority, The Wallens and The Punches.

Friday night features 12 groups including The Chosen Ones, The Wanda Mtn. Boys and One Voice.

Saturday night will feature 13 artists including The Barry Jones Family and The Redemptions.

The starting times for each concert is 7 p.m. on Thursday night, 6:30 p.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Reserved seats are $5 with children under 12 admitted free. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling or visiting the Farmington Civic Center. The number to call to reserve seats is (573) 756-0900.
