70-year-old falls from bluff at Pickle Springs

A 70-year-old female sustained injuries after falling off a bluff at Pickle Springs Natural Area Wednesday afternoon. She was transported from the scene by Air Evac after a successful rescue operation.

According to Wolf Creek Fire personnel, the victim was hiking with family members when the fall occurred. A family member then contacted emergency services. While the exact nature of her injuries was not known at press time, the victim reported head and neck injuries.

Departments from Wolf Creek, Farmington, Weingarten and Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance responded to the incident. Pickle Springs Natural Area is a natural area in western Ste. Genevieve County that contains a two-mile trail traversing steep, rocky terrain.
