Rosses Celebrate 50th Anniversary

Dr. Douglas K. and Pamela J. (Berkley) Ross celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 28, 2012. The official celebration was held on Saturday, July 21 during a family reunion on Bull Shoals Lake near Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Fifty-one family members attended the anniversary party hosted by the Ross’ five children: Kevin (Sherman Oaks, Calif.), Julie Powers (Farmington, Mo.), Bradley (Los Angeles, Calif.), Scott (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Jennifer Roberts (Hattiesburg, Miss.).

After an outdoor barbecue buffet at a cousin’s lake home, the Ross children toasted their parents, followed by a flash-mob-style song about growing up in the Ross home under the care of their loving parents. The five siblings sang to the tune of “One Day More” from the Broadway musical Les Miserables, featuring original lyrics written by Scott Ross.

Kevin Ross presented an original film entitled “The Story of Doug and Pam as told by the Grandkids.” The film, directed and edited by Kevin, featured the Ross grandchildren: Ian Powers (Farmington), Addison Roberts (Hattiesburg) and Samantha and Benjamin Ross (Sherman Oaks). The end of the film paid homage to the fifth grandchild, Emma, who passed away in 2007.

Bradley Ross created a full-color, hardbound photo book of the Ross’ life together, beginning with their childhood photos in Arcadia Valley and following their lives from their wedding at Salem Lutheran Church in St. Louis in 1962, through their two years in Paris while Doug served in the U.S. Army and continued throughout Doug’s dental career in Farmington, ending with his official retirement in 2011 when he sold his dental practice.
