Robert ‘Ernie’ Wadlow
PARK HILLS — Robert “Ernie” Wadlow, 88, of Bonne Terre, formerly of Park Hills, passed away at his St. Joe Manor residence November 10, 2012. He was born April 5, 1924, at Flat River.
“Ernie” was a WW II veteran; Life Member of the D.A.V.; Lifetime Member of Desloge V.F.W. Post #416; Life member of American Legion Post #46 of Farmington; Lifetime Member of the Mineral Area Retired Teachers Association; and member of Elvins Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, Elijah D. and Minnie Belle (Goggins) Wadlow; and his wife, Demova “Dee Dee” (Baldwin) Wadlow.
He is survived by: Children, Brenda Mooney of Park Hills, Robert (Karen) Wadlow of Farmington, Peggy (Danny) Murphy of Farmington, Nancy Easter of Springfield, Lana (Greg) Nelson of Vilonia, Ark., and Richard (Tammy) Wadlow of Park Hills; grandchildren, Janet DeGrant, LTC Patrick (Becky) Mooney II, Robyn (Nick) Kinkead, Brad (Rheanna) Wadlow, Randy Wadlow, Angie Wadlow, Scott (Staci) Murphy, Tracie (Mike) McMahan, Christie (PJ) Jones, Jenny (Deric) Cofield, Jody Easter, Jordan Easter, Crimson Nelson, Reba Nelson, Colin Nelson, Griffin Nelson, Hunter Wadlow and Fisher Wadlow, great-grandchildren, Breanna DeGrant, Kyndra Mooney, Patrick Mooney III, Seth Mooney, August Mooney, Fallon Kinkead, Nick Kinkead, Kara Kinkead, Robert Wadlow, Trenton Wadlow, Ryan Wadlow, Allison Wadlow, Austin Wadlow, Desyrae Wadlow, Cole Murphy, Carson Murphy, Casen Murphy, Callie Thurston, Tayler McMahan, Mackenzie Jones, Jaxon Jones, Grace Jones, DJ Cofield, Mason Madrid, Noah Madrid and Ayden Nelson; great-great-granddaughter, Isabella Wadlow and great-great-grandson, Castyn D. Flaherty; special friend, Irene Zarowski. Several nieces, nephews, other friends and relatives also survive.
Visitation will be 4:30-8 p.m., with a VFW service at 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Horton-Wampler Funeral Home in Park Hills. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Horton-Wampler Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Hogan officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Park Hills. Memorials may be made to the Mineral Area College Scholarship Fund.
