Bonne Terre man charged with enticement
A Bonne Terre man is charged after Iron Mountain Lake Police say he tried to entice at least one minor through text messages.
Christopher M. Morton, 23, of Bonne Terre, has been charged with attempted enticement of a child. Bond was set at $150,000 cash-only. If convicted, he could be sentenced from 5 years to life in prison.
According to court records, a girl told her parents that Morton had been texting her this month asking if she would have sex with him. She told Morton to get rid of her number but he texted her again on Nov. 10.
The girl said one of her female friends had been talking to Morton on Facebook. When police talked to the female friend, also a juvenile, the girl said she stopped talking to him after he asked her to come to his house in Bonne Terre. She said Morton had said he was 17.
